Oftentimes, we underestimate our resiliency. Resiliency is the ability to overcome obstacles; to bounce back from a difficult occurrence. Difficult occurrences are a part of life and no one is immune to them. When we experience something hard, such as the death of a loved one, a divorce, loss of a job, etc., it is hard to focus on anything but the situation. Our emotions range from anger, sadness, disappointment, loneliness and everything in between. Sometimes blame, guilt and embarrassment occur. These times can shake us to our very core. Difficult times are not fun, but they are necessary because they teach us how to to persevere, how to utilize resources, how to demonstrate tenacity and fortitude. These are qualities we have, but sometimes we need to be reminded that we have survived hard times in the past. We survived! We are still standing!! The fact should encourage us to push on because with each conquered difficulty, we get stronger to overcome the next one and the next one and so on! Even at your lowest point, dig deep because you are stronger than your struggle!
